THE TASK: create the identity of a bottled cocktail that differentiates with low calorie portion control.
The appeal of calorie conscious products isn’t novel, but creating a cocktail with portion control is. The idea of being a social butterfly and blossoming into new self image became the direction for the creative.
Conceptualizing social butterfly obviously incorperated some butterfly elemements, but signifying the social aspect simply was the mission. We kept coming back the age old illusion of faces and the glass (candlestick?). Moreover, that the drink was in the negative space reinfoced the conscious cocktail sell point. It was perfect. Simple and beautiful and really encapsulates the ideals of the brand.
DEVELOPMENT: TAKE 1
It is a process. The direction evolved quit a lot over the course of brand development. Initially, our direction was typographic and the art treatment for the label was more illustrative and feminine. We wanted to find a way to unify the label art while allowing them to take on their own flavor, literally and figuratively.
The artwork transitioned through a few concepts before we settled on the angelic “birth of venus” design. Incorperating the flavors into the wings rolled out the flavor line up.
