THE TASK: Zahlco thinks rather differently. They spoke a lot about the people that live in their apartments and the lives they lead. They wanted realism and connection to the city. It wasn’t about their product, rather, offering up a lifestyle that entices.
THE APPROACH: To achieve a piece with so many livley scenes, we worked this a ture documentarian would; camera and a bag and walk the city for 12 days. Dont worry, there still was a shot list… of 300+ shots!
THE RESULT: The piece is a great homage to Baltimore and builds hype for transpants to the city. Zahlco has featured the film as their anthem and is used in all branding.

THE STORY
THAT BMORE SPIRIT
Sitting in the creative brief, the word that kept getting repeated- real.
“We are real. We have real people here. Were not super fancy. We are the people that work at coffee shops, artists, students. We provide upscale affordable housing.”
To find the pulse of this film and the ideology of the brand, we needed to find a way to show the city in the way locals see it. Seek out those quirky things that make Baltimore special to it’s inhabitants.
The approach was one we learned in film school. Set out with a camera on your back and start exploring the city. Granted, we had a massive shot list, but who knew if we were going to find what we wanted. It was as much a chance when looking through the lens. It’s a beautiful way to work that rarely happens in commercial work these days.
In the end, the way the edits flow, the energy… it really embodied the spirit of Baltimore.
